Creating a room for more than one kid can be a challenge, but we've helped many parents figure this problem out, and we can help you too. The difficulty is finding a way to create a personal haven for each child with limited space. We've found that the key to making each child feel comfortable and happy in a shared room starts with the way it's divided up.
Start by considering what each child wants or needs out of their area, and build that into the room division method, whether that be a room partition, custom shelving that can span the height of the room, a modular system, or panels. For example, if one of your kids loves to read, and the other has a lot of collectibles you might consider something with smaller shelves on one side for figurines, and book-sized shelves on the other, for your reader.
Our partitions are a great option for when constructing a sheetrock wall is not an option, whether your building won’t allow it or and you’re looking for a more temporary partition. Our modular kid's room divider and separator pieces are made completely out of plywood that won’t ruin your walls or your floors and are easy to mount and disassemble.
Our custom partitions can be fitted with double-sided cabinets or panels in translucent plexiglass. Our plexiglass option allows you to choose areas where you’d like some light to shine through, while still maintaining privacy.
Here are some examples of child safe room dividers we've done in the past, that made a single space work for multiple occupants:
