Sydney and Brynn's bedroom needed an upgrade that would accommodate their growing needs, provide plenty of storage, and offer space space for studying, playing, and hosting sleepovers. The goal was to create a bright, functional, and thoughtfully designed room that would grow alongside the girls.
We began with our Cabina bunk bed that features a comfortable ergonomic ladder. We placed a pull-out trundle bed below the bottom bunk which is perfect for hosting sleepovers. Next to the bunk bed, we designed a custom desk and storage unit for Sydney and Brynn to do their homework and other activities. To ensure the trundle bed could easily open we designed the right side desk to feature only one leg panel.
Each desk includes two pencil drawers and a wire management shelf below the desktop to keep cords and wires neatly tucked away. Above the desk, the hutches offers two open cubbies for display items, and two closed cabinets with adjustable shelves inside, ideal for stashing books and supplies out of sight. Between the desks sits a shared central storage unit, complete with three drawers, open adjustable shelving, and a single cabinet with more hidden storage inside.
Opposite the bunk bed and desk set up is a full wall of custom wardrobe cabinetry that we designed after demolishing their existing closets. Their existing layout, pictured below, wasted a lot of space and the girls parents were eager to find a solution that could help keep their clothes and other belongings organized.
Divided into three sections with the left and right unit featuring two tall lower doors that open to reveal open shelving and dual hanging bars, perfect for dresses and everyday clothes. As the girls get older, the lower rod can be removed to make space for longer garments. Above, the two upper cabinets feature adjustable shelving inside for clothes other storage items that don't need to be accessed on a daily basis. The center wardrobe unit maximized storage capability with eight drawers; four wide drawers at the bottom and four narrower drawers placed side by side on top. The upper cabinet of this center unit offers additional adjustable shelving, ensuring every inch of space is utilized effectively.
The room's aesthetic beautifully combines with our natural birch finish with painted white accents, creating a warm yet modern atmosphere. Sydney and Brynn's room has been now been set up and maximized for current and future needs, ensuring it will remain inviting and organized for years to come.
