In an Upper West Side apartment, we designed and configured Evan's spacious but narrow room. To keep the center of the room clear, we placed our Marino Twin Over Full Bunk Bed and two Modular storage units against the long wall. Although Evan is a younger child, our natural finish with gray accents were chosen to provide a more "grown up" touch that Evan will appreciate through his teenage years.
In addition to the trundle storage drawers that Evan is demonstrating for us, he has room for the rest of his clothes and toys in the 5 long storage drawers in the stairs and the two deep drawers in the storage units.
The upper cabinets provide plenty of space for books, toys and other collectables. As an added bonus, the top of the two storage drawers double as a bench.
The beauty of having a full size bed underneath Evan's top bunk is that it makes sleepovers that much easier. But when the bottom bed is unoccupied it makes a great place for Evan to lounge with all of his stuffed animals.
No room is complete without a desk, and we wanted to make sure that Evan had enough space for homework and creative time. We designed a custom floating desk and placed it on the wall opposite the bed so that Evan has a defined work area. With a magnetic board and plenty of open and closed maximum storage space, it's easy for him to stay organized so he can spend more time studying or playing.
