This room consisted of an L-shaped Loft bed with a play area above, built in bookshelves, an extra-tall desk for storage, and a built in Curio Box, a shallow cabinet for display. This custom project is not just unique because of its vibrant, green color. At Casa Kids, we usually create lofted areas for sleep. When a play area is lofted, it can lose its novelty and make it difficult if the child wants to transport toys to the ground. However, our clients specifically requested the play area be lofted, so we created a twin size loft and a twin size floor bed below. This loft is equipped with high guard rails on the top bunk for safety, and can also can be converted to a bed if the child decides to stop using it for play.

The custom desk hutch has an extra layer of shelves to reach high ceilings and maximize storage space. Our Casa Kids Curio Box allows for both storage and display without compromising floor area like a regular book shelf. 

The guard rails are taller than standard bunk rails, so the child can play without risk of falling. Additionally, the rail also has vertical slots rather than horizontal, so that the child cannot use them as toe holds to climb. Through this innovation, we were able to create a bespoke sleep and play area that is exactly as the client requested, but also keep the space safe and adaptable to future use.
