A twin-over-full bunk bed design.

We recommended and eventually installed this twin-over-full bunk bed for a child whose mother wanted a configuration that allowed them to interact easily before bedtime. The full-size bed on the lower level lends itself well to parents who want to lay in bed and read to or comfort their child without contorting their adult-sized bodies into kid-sized spaces. This design is also ideal for families who host frequent overnight guests. The full-size lower bed is perfect for sleepovers or visiting grandparents (as a child migrates to the upper twin bunk or the trundle bed below). The trundle bed we installed increases this unit's sleeping capacity to five.

The stairs leading up to the top bunk double as drawers, increasing the room's storage capacity. We also installed vertical rods on the bookshelf snuggled next to the stairs that act as handrails - increasing safety as children climb up and down.

To the right of the unit we installed a custom dresser and armoire, designed to match the bed's height and fit perfectly into the tight space.

Opposite the bed, we installed a custom desk, storage unit and bench. The desk provides ample and easily accessible storage, as well as a cable management system that keeps wires and clutter off the ground.

The bench is perfect for sitting or for use as a stepping stool to safely access items on upper shelves. The drawers below provide children with easy access to toys and their proximity to the ground ensures that toys can be quickly and easily gathered and replaced when playtime is over.
