"Honey, I put the baby in the closet..."
To make this layout work and create two separate rooms, a walk-in closet had to be converted into a small nursery.

The larger boy’s room allowed for a window bench with drawers and bookshelves above. We also designed and installed an armoire near the entrance of the room that includes drawers and shallow side shelves for storage or display.

We built a custom crib designed to fit into this tight space that was only two inches smaller than the standard size. For extra storage space, we fitted two large drawers under the crib, which easily converts into a toddler bed (not shown) that can carry the child until she is six years old.

The approximately 5’ x 5’ room has sliding doors on two sides, one side to the brother’s room and the other to the hallway, right across from the master bedroom.

To the right of the crib, in an existing niche, we installed a dresser just about the right size for a changing table and a hanging cabinet with sliding doors above.
